Gerard Clouthier, Founding Member & Current President
Gerry is one of three of the original founders of R.G.T. Clouthier Construction Ltd.
Gerry was born the 13th of 18 children and raised by his parents Louis and Edna Clouthier in the Ottawa Valley. His career of working with heavy machinery began at the age of 15 when he travelled into Algonquin Park to work as a logger cutting poles. He went on to work in construction as a labourer for Bremner Construction at CFB Petawawa, and later in Sudbury and Toronto. He continued to expand his construction knowledge as he worked for Wimpey Construction in Toronto doing roadwork and sewer work.

In 1972, Gerry and his brother, Timmy, opened Pembroke Machine Shop which was located at Valley Truck and Spring Service, another local business that was run by two of their brothers, Billy and Doug. In 1980, Gerry and Timmy, along with their older brother, Robert, bought the Clouthier Industrial garage on Matthews Avenue in Pembroke and started R.G.T. Clouthier Construction Ltd. The business still resides there today.
More than 30 years later, R.G.T. Clouthier Construction Ltd. is still a family owned and operated business with Gerry’s son, Dean, serving as a vice president.
